LIVE | ST MARY’S, TOTNES.“We’re so hyped to welcome Damon Albarn to Totnes to perform select songs from his new album, “The Nearer The Fountain, More Pure The Stream Flows””
Damon has been a big part of our musical landscapes for some thirty years now, so this is a really special live show for us. The Nearer The Fountain, More Pure The Stream Flows was originally intended as an orchestral piece inspired by the landscapes of Iceland. This last year has seen Albarn return to the music in lockdown and develop the work to eleven tracks which further explore themes of fragility, loss, emergence and rebirth. The result is a panoramic collection of songs with Albarn as storyteller. The album title is taken from a John Clare poem ‘Love and Memory’.

As we progress towards November there could be limitations put in place that require the wearing of a mask, this could also include the requirement to show registered proof of a negative COVID test. Information will be clearly published in advance.
* UPDATE * We will require all in attendance to provide NHS evidence (as a text message) of a negative rapid lateral flow test, or, a digital NHS COVID pass.
