2024

We have made the decision not to run a Sea Change Weekender in 2024.

We know that this will be hugely disappointing news, but with no drama, crisis or panic, we’re just going to spend some time recalibrating. The core team have been in production for a number of months and we’ve never satisfactorily been able to make the maths stack up so that we can run the event in the way that we want to. It remains hugely important to us to ensure that we have a high audience participation and honour the community that have been such a huge part of the event since 2016.

Whilst the economy is in the state that it is, we have the extreme good fortune to be able to quietly sit back and carefully plan, which we acknowledge is not a luxury that others in our world have.

No one element or parameter is directly to blame, but as a small and independent organisation, we don’t feel that the risk of a broad event in 2024 would be financially viable and decided to act decisively to ensure that we begin work right away on delivering ambitious new events in 2025 and beyond. We wanted to assure you that we’re alright and although it is sad, it is a direct consequence of the brain ruling over the heart on this occasion.

We feel both supported and also a vital part of the music landscape, especially for emerging and outsider music. We honour the responsibility greatly and will return. There will be stand alone events (we have a few in the diary already) and we’ll be sure to keep vocal about what we’re doing and when.

We really look forward to seeing you all again soon.
